HUAYNA POTOSI (3 days)
“Climb the easiest 6100 m peak in the
Cordillera Real”
Day 1: From the city of La Paz
we travel to Zongo Pass (4750 m high) to an alpine style hut. We will practice
mountaineering skills in the nearby
glaciers for 2-3 hours.
Day 2: We climb 2 and a half
hours on difficult moraines up to the toe of the glacier (5200 m high). High camp. Some
porters help with extra luggage.
Day 3: 6 hour climb with 2 semi
technical passages of up to 45º steep. Descend the same day to Zongo Pass and return to
La Paz.
EXTENSIONS: You can ideally link it
afterwards with “Trek from the high Andes to the Amazon
rain forest”; and just before this climb you can do “Trek Condoriri-Huayna Potosí”.
