Juan VillarroelIt is managed by Juan Villarroel who has a masters degree in Tourism and Hostelling from the university Univalle - La Paz. He is also a certified mountain guide with a lot of experience in trekking guidance. He speaks English, French, Spanish and Aymara fluently and studied the archaeology of South America. His hobbies include bird watching and lithography so he is a good guide on them as well. He has assisted with technical info to many guide books like : The Andes by John Biggar and reported new routes to magazines like High Magazine in UK. He wrote the guide book “Trekking and Climbing in the High Andes of Bolivia” used as manual by many travel bureaus.

Rosalía Ramos is the chief of operations for outdoor activities. With plenty of experience in gastronomy and expedition logistics she makes your holiday pleasant and memorable.

Piter Barrón is our chief of guides. He is an experienced tour guide with degree from the university of La Paz. Excellent photographer.

Michel

Michel P. Devarenne, is a scientist from Belgium, dedicated to wildlife, as an entomologist his passion is the butterfly. Since 1974 he studied insects in 80 countries. Since he arrived in Bolivia in 1995 to study the natural environment of Altiplano and Yungas rain forest he fell in love with Bolivia and its endemic insects. He does not have to go home because he is at home. He knows like no one else the flora and fauna and specially the insects of the Yungas rain forest and he organizes ecotourism and courses of entomology at Azimut Explorer.  

Juan, Piter and Michel go personally as guides. they are assisted as well by some other guides: Osvi Cortés, Marcos Capriles and José Catacora, certified mountain guides and experienced trekking and ecotourism guides.

Freddy and Rosalía are helped in their daily work by a little staff of workers that make the running of our activities with clients smooth and enjoyable.

LEGALITY

Registered legally with the Nº 000008 at the Tourism bureau of Prefectura del Departamento de La Paz; with the Nº 00034009 at the Bureau of Enterprises in Bolivia.
